Balance and fluctuation in events. Both movie nights and physical events mixed together. Get a mix of students coming in - Sandi

Get feedback from everyone on events. There needs to be more outreach - Morgan

Events in locals HQ - get people comfortable with the HQ and keep barrier to entry very low - Nathan

Wear shirts to each event - Phil

The Maori centre offers a local Maori outreach program - they take them on board and then offloads students onto Locals - Sandi

Not a lot of diversity in Locals. Should do a lot more cultural events. Collaborative events with the likes of the Maori Centre - Phil

We can’t reach everyone, we should think about activities that promote Locals HQ and the services on offer

Event Suggestions and Discussion

Scavenger hunt idea that gets students going around the services to promote knowledge. We separate the fun events from the orientation events - Alfie

Lecture runs - there’s a small slot at the start of each lecture to inform about the locals program - Alfie

Orientation events that are after O-week will overwhelm people less - Nathan

Create and post an event schedule to everyone - Morgan

Run events weekly for the first six weeks, then fortnightly until end of semester - Nathan

Low effort nights with a high engagement - Nathan

Group fitness classes for first years - Emily

Sports days on the union lawn. Everything that was listed is based on our demographic - we will need to match the new demographic. - Alfie Re: Sports Day: Don’t recruit people for events - this will put a lot of people off. Maegan

Re: Sports Day: If that was a thing to happen then we could do it as an outreach program. Invite year 13 students - Morgan

We could make it so that locals events are open to students outside of Locals to boost awareness - Alfie / Morgan
