This was easily the best event that we ran this year (and it was my idea and planning that made it work!) We pulled this off well because of how it was promoted. A week before running the event we snuck into HQ on sunday to decorate the room. Streamers were everywhere, fairy lights and Christmas trees aplenty. People were not excited until this happened.
What went well:
- Decorating a week before got everyone excited for the event
- Promoting the event all week through decorations and Christmas music
- Pot luck was exciting
- Christmas tree made everyone happy
- Gift exchange between Dazzy and myself
- We blocked out the windows so that people couldn’t see in
What didn’t go well:
- Claire talked to everyone, I would have liked to do that
- Food and feasting was delayed for some reason
- There was a lot of crap food instead of wholesome food
- Blocked out windows would have been better if they were themed or patterned instead of brown
What we could have done better:
- Slow cooked something throughout the day - something that would have smelled delicious
- Even more decorations
- Don’t use fake snow
- Clean fake snow up faster so Maya doesn’t have to do it
